See 80-acre estate in Davis with sleek home and two water-skiing lakes. Price: $1.95M
An 80-acre estate in Davis with two private water skiing lakes and a boathouse is on the market for $1.95 million.
A sleek and modern main house on the property spans 3,220 square feet with five bedrooms and four baths.
“More than just a home, this show-stopping 80-acre estate is a lifestyle where you can indulge in absolute luxury and relish endless hours of fun outdoors,” according to the official property listing.
Listing agent Tiphanne Crowe of Coldwell Banker Realty said the private setting, neighboring almond and pistachio orchards, is superb for enjoying a sunset dinner and drinks with friends or for going for a walk along the lake shoreline.
“It’s serenely quiet as you only hear sounds of laughter, crickets chirping and the clink of toasting glasses,” she said.
“The property provides privacy, an ability to be with loved ones and friends outdoors with plenty of space and exercise, be it water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, barbecuing, fishing, or just going for a walk along the shoreline,” she added
The estate at 43565 Country Road 29 has been recently used as a vacation house or weekend home for the sellers. It was built in 1999. When it was first developed, Crowe said, one of the owners was a professional water skier, Crowe said. He moved to Florida. The present owners are avid water skiers, she said. With children away in college, they don’t have a need for the property any longer, she added.
The lakes, which are filled with natural rain and well water, measure a half-mile long, 320-feet wide and 12.5 feet deep. They have an optimum slope/grade of 16:1, which is “perfect for a slalom ski course,” Crowe said. They were once lined with sand and palapas.
At one time, the second lake was used more for aquaculture, complete with a feeding silo and planted with more than 40,000 catfish.
The aquaculture permit doesn’t expire and stays with the property. The permit has been tied to the land since 1996.
The estate is near the UC Davis campus, as well as downtown Sacramento, 48 miles from Napa and 75 miles from downtown San Francisco, “which casts the net to a lot of potential buyers,” Crowe said.
“I think it’s a one-of-a-kind private vacation home for buyers investing in multiple homes, and there could be other opportunities, county-approved of course, through use permits,” she added.
