Listed at $295M, this L.A. mansion goes to auction in bid to be priciest sale in U.S.
Known as “The One” a 105,000-square-foot California mega-mansion heads to a no-reserve auction in February.
The home is listed at $295 million and is marketed as the largest residence in America. If it goes for that price, it will also be the most expensive home ever sold in the country.
Aaron Kirman of Compass and Branden and Rayni Williams of Williams & Williams at The Beverly Hills Estates are representing the property and have teamed up with Concierge Auctions to manage the no-reserve bidding process that opens February 28, 2022.
The mammoth house comes with 21 bedrooms, 49 bathrooms, five pools, six elevators and a 20-car garage, according to the auction website. To put its 105,000-square-foot living space in in perspective, a football field, including the end zones, measures 57,600 square feet. The estate sits on 3.8 acres.
The home is filled with architectural amenities, such as a rotating custom statue in the grand foyer by Mike Fields, a custom sculpture from Italian glass artist Simone Cenedese, 26-foot ceilings; a 5,000-square-foot primary suite with private pool, a two-story library with a balcony and a nightclub with a VIP area.
That’s certainly not all that makes the property grand.
“There’s a reason ‘The One’ is setting a new high watermark for global real estate,” Rayni Williams told realtor.com. “(It has) more flat land, coupled with the biggest views—more so than any other property previously for sale in Los Angeles.”
“Coveted Bel Air is famous for its star-studded residents and spectacular homes,” the auction listing states. “Even within a neighborhood where multi-million-dollar estates are the norm, The One drips in luxury beyond comparison. Luscious greenery and stunning architecture throughout Bel Air’s winding roads create a true oasis under the sunny California sky.
“This 105,000-square-foot work of art appears to float above the very city of Los Angeles itself, elevated for maximum panoramic views and surrounded on three sides with a shimmering moat of water,” the listing continues.
The home has been 10 years in the making. The One was built by developer Nile Niami. Recently completed, the mansion has never been lived in and was placed into Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October, according to the Los Angeles Times.
