A Malibu, California, beachfront home on the market for the first time in 44 years has sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains, but one must be forgiven if they find their eyes looking up at the sky instead.
The 5,000-square-foot cliff-side estate for sale for $10 million comes with its own private observatory. The view of the heavens is far from city lights, too, according to the official property listing.
“One of the unique features of this iconic home is the view,” said Timothy White of Douglas Elliman, the listing agent, to The Bee in an email. “It is one of best views of Point Dume and Zuma beach from every room on the bluff. Not only this, it is the only home in Point Dume with an observatory that was originally installed in the late 80s because the owner was an avid stargazer. The location is of the property truly epic. The three-bedroom, five-bath single-family home was built in 1978 and designed to optimize the views of the Channel Islands, Zuma Beach and surrounding mountains with abundant natural light, an open-concept living space, high vaulted ceilings, skylights and blonde wood.

The house was remodeled in 1988, White told Mansion Global.
