Modern and sophisticated, California home offers hair salon, candy wall, views. See it

A historic Beverly Hills, California, estate — built in 1924, redesigned in 1950 by a notable mid-century architect and then elegantly renovated in 2015 — has hit the market for $20 million with amenities that include a home theater, gym, hair salon and a candy wall in the game room.

“This home is a secluded destination in itself that boasts top amenities one would find in a luxury hotel,” said listing agent Adi Perez of The Agency.

Sixty-five years after architect William S. Beckett — who crafted the residences of many A-list celebrities — added his touch, the result of the last remodel was a modern and stylish interior, Perez said. The 12,000-square-foot home’s redesign highlighted its grand living spaces, lofty ceilings, gorgeous views from the floor-to-ceiling glass walls and fine wood, stone and white porcelain finishes.

The home sits on nearly one acre of land with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

“Warm, sophisticated interiors, replete with wood, stone and white porcelain finishes, speak to the home’s unrivaled artistry,” according to the listing. “Masterfully designed for entertaining, grand, light-infused living spaces flow in seamless succession, with soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass revealing far-reaching city views and lush grounds.”

There is a large chef’s kitchen with an eat-in marble island and breakfast area, a separate catering kitchen, a sweeping “solarium-like” great room with a marble bar, a billiards room, walk-in wine cellar, state-of-the-art home theater, gym, hair salon and private massage room, according to the listing.

The three-story estate, which includes a smart-home system, also has a candy wall in the billiards room, an attached guesthouse and six-car automobile gallery. Beautiful contemporary staircases lead to an expansive second floor, where the primary suite is equipped with dual showroom closets, an exquisite bathroom and a private terrace with a spa that overlooks Beverly Hills.

Outside of the home’s glass-enclosed living spaces are tiled patios, a tranquil meditation garden, and built-in poolside bar and grill. There are flat, grassy lawns and a floating zero-edge infinity pool surrounded by mature palms and other trees.
