Former Vegas home of Michael Jackson for sale by two of his fans. See $9.5M listing
A 17,000-square-foot Las Vegas estate — surrounded by a 10-foot-high wall — where late pop music superstar Michael Jackson lived has hit the market for $9.5 million.
Jackson rented the home for about a year in 2006 for $50,000 a month after spending time in the Middle East and Ireland, according to the listing agent, Zar Zanganeh of The Agency, who represented Jackson back then.
The privacy of the home, which has an oversized backyard, was a big draw for the music icon, according to The Agency. Location was another highlight. The estate is located about 15 minutes from The Strip at 2785 S. Monte Cristo Way, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sellers Dong Xue and his wife Jeanette Zhou bought the home in 2010 for $3.1 million. They enclosed a balcony in the primary suite that jumped the square footage up to 17,000 square feet from 16,000. That bedroom suite now totals 2,500 square feet.
Inside, there is a home theater and a ballroom with a spiral staircase that leads to an orchestra loft. The elegant house has high ceilings, an indoor fountain and custom chandeliers.
The office wing contains two executive offices, a meeting room and a safe room.
On the grounds, there is a pool, spa, tennis court and a covered outdoor kitchen.
Xue and Zhou were big fans of Michael Jackson, according to Zanganeh. Some of the singer’s furniture, including a dining table and a sofa, remained in the house, which has been the couple’s primary residence for more than a decade after living in California.
Xue works in the pharmaceutical industry and Zhou in fiber-optic communications.
