Skyrocketing: Interactive map shows rent increases for every Sacramento area ZIP code
Sacramento’s rent hikes just won’t let up.
Nearly every ZIP code in the capital region saw median rents increase between February 2021 and last month, according to new data analyzed by rental housing data firm RentHub.
Just three ZIP codes saw year-over-year declines: 95618 in Davis, 95648 in Lincoln and 95661 in Roseville. Rents were stable in a handful of other communities, according to the data.
Typical rents in the region increased nearly 20% in 2021, one of the biggest jumps among the nation’s 50 largest metropolitan areas. That put typical rents here at the same levels as the Washington, D.C. and Seattle regions.
