Family selling Nevada land for $100M, plus Lake Tahoe estate for $55M. Take a look
A 12,000-acre cattle ranch in Minden, Nevada, 25 miles from Lake Tahoe, is now on the market for $100 million.
The vast stretch of land, with six modest homes on it, is being sold by Bently Enterprises, along with other real estate holdings, including the incredible 4.85-acre Wovoka estate in Lake Tahoe with nearly 370 feet of beach frontage at Zephyr Cove. The Lake Tahoe property on the east shore will list for $55 million, according to media reports.
Bently Enterprises is the largest private landowner in in Douglas County, Nevada, where Bently Ranch is located.
Bently Ranch is listed with Todd Renfrew of California Outdoor Properties. Renfrew said it’s the highest priced ranch for sale in Nevada.
“This incredible 12,491 deeded-acre property is being sold as one unit, offering a once in a lifetime opportunity,” according to the official property listing. “The owners started to accumulate land in Nevada in 1997 and instituted a cattle program in 2012. Over the last several years, they have focused on sustainable farming, aiming to grow a variety of crops that are used in their distilling industry.”
Wheat, rye, barley, hops and oats, as well as premium alfalfa, are grown on the ranch.
“Bently Heritage Estate Distillery exclusively uses the grains and botanicals to create some of the world’s finest spirits,” according to the listing.
Christopher and Camille Bently, owners of the Nevada distillery Bently Heritage, are selling the Lake Tahoe home, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The Bentlys are also putting their distillery on the market, the Wall Street Journal reported.
In addition to six homes, the ranch contains four bunk houses, 13 hay barns, five barns, five shops, a malt house, feedlot and a compost facility.
Meanwhile, the stunning Lake Tahoe compound in Glenbrook, Nevada, has a main house, two guest houses and a studio. There is a wine cellar, theater, a huge stone fireplace in the great room and walls of glass offering lake views.
Along with its private beach, there’s a stone boathouse with two lifts, three buoys and a breakwater jetty with a private pier. If the lake isn’t enough, the property has a waterfall, creek and infinity edge saltwater pool on the grounds.
“Some of the things I like the most about the property are the way the structures meld harmoniously into the natural surroundings, and the very rare existence of nearly every lake amenity that exists,” listing agent Clif Chase of Chase International Real Estate said via email. “This is very rare on the waterfront in Tahoe.”
The owners acquired a second lot early in 2013, “adding significantly to the holding and accentuating the already very private setting,” Chase said.
The Wovoka estate was originally built in 2001 and is a well-known, architecturally-acclaimed home in the Tahoe region, he added.
