See amazing Utah ski home Rockstar Energy Drink founder just bought for record $39.5M

Russell Weiner, the billionaire founder of Rockstar Energy Drink, has bought a ski estate in Park City, Utah, for $39.6 million, the most expensive home ever sold in the state, according to Engel & Völkers real estate firm.

The newly built mansion at Park City Mountain Resort spans 17,500 square feet with seven en-suite bedrooms; each with its own terrace and fire pit. The estate sits on five acres.

Known as “Monitor’s Rest,” the estate is loaded with luxury amenities, technology and dramatic views of Monitor Bowl and the Wasatch mountain range.

“It is not only the sales price that is exceptional here,” listing agent Paul Bension of Engel & Völkers Park City said in a statement. “The property itself is also truly outstanding. The fact that such a magnificent home was created here and brokered so quickly illustrates the immense appeal of Utah, and Park City in particular.”

Benson represented both Weiner and the seller, the development company Iluminus Group. The deal reportedly closed in April.

Benson gave credit for quickly closing the deal to marketing on social. In March, while work on the interior of the property was being completed, he posted an update on the status of the project on Instagram, according to a news release. The post went viral.

“Interested buyers got to know about the property this way and contacted me. It proves that using social media works, even when selling real estate at the absolute top end of the market,” Benson said in a statement.

In 2001, Weiner grew Rockstar into a company doing business in 30 countries. He sold it to PepsiCo in 2020 for $3.85 billion. Weiner’s net worth is estimated to be about $4.1 billion, according to Forbes.

Property website toptenrealestatedeals.com shared photos of the alpine residence (see video above).

The ski home has an indoor and an outdoor pool, a private spa area, a Himalayan salt room and indoor climbing wall, according to the news release. For top-notch entertaining, there is also a colorful bowling alley, game room, a golf simulator and a movie theater. A special feature is the panorama tower, which offers 360-degree views over the tree line to the mountain scenery.

The kitchen is fitted with professional gourmet appliances, including a stone oven for pizza. Modern home technology filters both the water and the air in the home and adjusts the lighting to the natural solar cycle.

The design uses Shou Sugi Ban charred cypress with a copper roof, Croatian limestone and Italian-steel windows and doors, according to toptenrealestatedeals.com

The outstanding property was listed for $42 million late last year, according to the Wall Street Journal.
