Investor, author of ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ lists Hawaii home on edge of ocean for $7.35M

Robert Kiyosaki, investor and the author of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” is selling his oceanfront home in Diamond Head on the Gold Coast of Oahu, Hawaii, for $7.35 million.

The home spans 3,488 square feet of open-floor living space with four bedrooms, four bathrooms. The remodeled house is filled with custom features: Merbau hardwood and travertine floors, built-in custom cabinetry and tongue-and-groove ceilings, according to the official property listing.

“The open concept living floor plan is perfect for entertaining, or relaxing and enjoying the ocean view,” the listing states. “Go surfing from your backyard, take a bike ride around Kapiolani Park or a stroll down to the Aquarium, Honolulu Zoo and into the world famous Waikiki.”

An expansive kitchen offers a stainless steel backsplash, cross-cut Limestone countertops, cabinetry of Italian rosewood, prima birds-Eye and zebrawood quartered veneer and a wet bar.

The home last sold in 2004 for $2.75 million. The current listing price is a drop from earlier this year when the home was asking $9.888 million.

Kiyosaki, 75, graduated from Hilo High School in Hilo, Hawaii. He is the founder of Rich Global LLC. The “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” series of books has reportedly sold more than 40 million copies around the world.

The demand for ocean front properties is strong, especially in Diamond Head.

“There are only about two dozen homes on the water between the Gold Coast and the lighthouse,” Trevor Benn of Forward Realty in Honolulu told KITV4.

The listing agents are Reine Ah Moo and Shannon K. Smith of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hawai’i Realty.
