After Truckee, the most expensive community in Nevada County is Placer County foothills, where the median price per square foot in September was $339.

The best deal can be found in Grass Valley/Nevada City, where the median price per square foot of a home sold is $331.

In September, a 1,728-square-foot home on Schussing Way in Truckee sold for $1,130,000.
