Showstopper near Lake Tahoe sets residential sales record for Truckee. See the amenities
A luxury home near Lake Tahoe has set a record for the highest-priced residential sale ever recorded in Truckee’s Martis Camp community
The 9,000-square-foot showstopper at 7018 Villandry Circle sold last week for $23.6 million in the Martis Camp community, according to a representative for Martis Camp Realty.
Martis Camp is located near the Northstar ski resort and about 15 miles from the shores of Lake Tahoe.
The average sales price in Martis Camp is about $8.8 million. The median listing price for a home in Truckee is $1.24 million.
“Martis Camp Home 627 is one of the premier estates in the community,” Brian Hull, president and broker at Martis Camp Realty, said in a statement. “Properties of this distinction rarely come to market because they are typically legacy properties that are handed down to the next generation. We are ... delighted to have secured a record-breaking sale for our seller.”
The buyer’s name has not been disclosed.
The Villandry Circle property overlooks the 13th and 14th holes on a Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course. Inside, the amenities are stunning: a glassed-in 1,200-bottle wine vault, in-home theater with eight custom seats and a glass sauna.
“From the moment you step through the front door, you’re captivated by the extraordinary nature of this home,” Kim Kennedy, sales executive at Martis Camp Realty, said. “It represents the pinnacle of architectural brilliance, boasting impeccable scale, an unparalleled location and exquisite finishes throughout. Every inch reflects masterful craftsmanship and bespoke design, the product of meticulous planning and execution.”
Sitting on 1.15 wooded acres, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom residence, called Martis Camp Home 627, also comes with an office, and gym. The great room showcases tall ceilings and walls of glass for mountain views of the Carson Range.
Entertainment value is strong, with multiple televisions, a full bar and a golf simulator, in addition to the home theater.
On the patio, there’s a hot tub, a pair of fire pits, a barbecue bay and a dining area that’s covered and heated.
The wine vault itself “is a work of art,” according to the property listing.
The primary suite sits beyond the glass sauna.
A glass and metal staircase leads to a floor occupied by a gym and a spacious office that has access to a private deck.
From the upstairs bunkroom, there are high-up views of the golf greens and Lookout Mountain near the ski resort.
The house was designed by Ward-Young Architecture and built by Crestwood Construction. Julie Johnson handled the interior design.
