See pitch-perfect Northern California wine estate with real baseball field up for auction

A picturesque, 44-acre vineyard estate in Northern California with a genuine, operational baseball field that has hosted Little League tournaments and an adult kickball league will sell to the highest bidder at auction next month after listing for $10.5 million.

Campos Family Vineyards in Byron, California — 23 miles west of Stockton in Contra Costa County — has also hosted concerts for legendary artists such as Pablo Cruise and The Marshall Tucker Band.

The baseball field boasts bleachers, night lights and a concession stand, while vineyard views highlight an expansive, 7,855-square-foot events center, with fiber optics for light shows and a professional light and sound system.

But the property offers more than just sports and events.

The home’s 30 acres of vines grow Zinfandel, Barbera, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Franc and Petite Syrah grapes. The fully operational winery allows a buyer the opportunity to craft wines in one of California’s newest American Viticulture Areas, according to Elite Auctions, which is facilitating the bidding.

Some of the award-winning wines produced by the estate are being sold in baseball stadiums, such as Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, and Yankee Stadium, Elite Auctions said in a news release.

Wine-tasting room

The property also has a wine-tasting room and 5 acres of olive trees.

Beyond that, the property includes a luxurious and modern 4,498-square-foot custom home with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. A pool spotlights the manicured grounds around the house.

The event center can be used for weddings, corporate retreats and other private celebrations, the property listing states.

“This property is more than just a place to live — it’s a place to create memories,” Elite Auctions founder and CEO Randy Haddaway said in a news release. “Whether you’re a wine lover, baseball enthusiast, want to support or are just someone looking for a unique lifestyle, Campos Family Vineyards offers something truly special.”

For investors, the property can be used for an array of income-generating opportunities, such as renting up to 12 Airbnb units, a wine country retreat or an agri-tourism business in a prime farm-to-table location. The estate has also been approved for a restaurant.

Auction and baseball

The on-site auction, which takes place at 11 a.m. April 7 at the property, follows the start of baseball season. Opening day for Major League Baseball was March 27.

The property also comes with an enormous 5,282 square feet of garage space and 2,295 square feet of covered porches and loggias.

“This is not just a home — it’s a lifestyle of unmatched sophistication and charm,” the property listing said.

The owners, who have lived on the property for nine years, decided to sell so they could retire and spend more time traveling, visiting family and working on other projects.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have lived our dream of owning a winery and are so proud of what it has become,” Campos Family Vineyards founders and owners Ric and Michelle Campos said in a statement. “More than just a winery with award-winning wines, it has grown into a place where people come together.

“My greatest joy has been bringing people together — whether watching Little Leaguers play on our baseball field, hosting community events with live music, or celebrating weddings.”

“Being part of the growth of the newly recognized Contra Costa County AVA and supporting local farmers and the U-pick/agritourism scene in this region has been immensely rewarding,” Ric said in an email. “This land is more than a business; it’s a place where we’ve built lasting memories and meaningful connections.”

Ginamarie Olson of WR Properties is the listing agent.

The property is holding open houses every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 1-4 p.m., through Sunday, April 6.
