A private Las Vegas estate tied to one of America’s best-known hospitality families is coming to market for the first time.

Michael and Jenna Morton have listed their long-held home at 36 Quiet Moon Lane in The Ridges at Summerlin for $19.5 million, according to Douglas Elliman. The two-acre property, designed in 2006 by architect Richard Luke, has never been publicly offered.

Michael Morton is the son of Arnie Morton, co-founder of Morton’s The Steakhouse and former president of Playboy Enterprises. His brother, Peter Morton, co-founded Hard Rock Cafe and developed the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas — helping shape the city’s modern nightlife-and-resort culture.

Downtown Sacramento, California, is home to a Morton’s The Steakhouse at 621 Capitol Mall. There’s a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino just north of the city.

The double-gated, single-story compound is marketed as a private sanctuary with resort-style pools and sweeping mountain views. The roughly 9,887-square-foot home includes seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a glass-enclosed wine display, multiple entertaining bars and indoor-outdoor dining areas, plus a gym and spa-style amenities.

Outside, there is a pool and spa, a 60-foot water slide, outdoor kitchen and bar, sport and play zones, a dog park-like turf area, and Crestron smart-home automation. A casita features a rooftop deck.

Kristen Routh-Silberman of Douglas Elliman is the listing agent.

For the Mortons, the appeal of the address wasn’t the Strip. It was the desert.

“The Ridges is one the premier luxury residential communities in one of the fastest growing cities in the country,” the couple said in a statement from Douglas Elliman. “But it was the precise location of the home that drew us.”

Michael remembered arriving before anything was built.

“When I saw it for the first time, there were wild burros standing on the recently graded lot looking toward the mountains,” he said. “I knew I had found our place.”

Jenna described the pull of privacy and nature.

“The opportunity to embrace nature and retreat from the Strip was spontaneously unmistakable,” she said in the email. “We love the entire Las Vegas persona, but what visitors don’t always see is its stunning natural beauty. We embrace the Strip in our work and play, but arriving home to peaceful views, and enveloping privacy offers a wonderful balance.”

The couple describes the home’s “Aman-like” mood was dictated by the setting as much as taste:

“The view to the west dictated the vibe of the home almost as much as our personal taste. Indeed, a trailer in this location would feel like an Aman resort.”

They aimed for a quieter kind of luxury, too.

“Las Vegas hotels are known for their over-the-top luxury, our aesthetic is more understated, clean, and contemporary,” according to the email “We wanted walls that allow art to speak for itself, and spaces that complement the evolving facets our family’s lives over time.”

Still, a hospitality family doesn’t design a place that can’t host. The Mortons said the house was built to move easily from everyday life to large-scale entertaining.

“The property feels like a resort, but it is one that can throw a great party,” they said. “The house is built for entertainment. Both the indoor and outdoor kitchens have easily fed from five to 205.”

When asked about their favorite places in the house, Michael described a day-to-day, family-and-fun routine: he’s usually outside with the dogs by the pool or posted up in the “playroom” watching the Golden Knights, while the kids gravitate to the slide. He added that the home’s real hub is the central open-concept kitchen, living and dining area where everyone naturally ends up.

Jenna framed her favorites as quieter, restorative spaces: she said she’s often tucked beside the reflection pool at its infinity edge — close to where desert birds pass through — or working in an office anchored by a custom floor-to-ceiling bookcase, with a Zen courtyard just outside.

As for why sell now, the couple said they’re staying near the same landscape that drew them in — just moving closer.

“We’re not going far; we’re inching closer to the Red Rock Canyon even though that is hardly possible,” they said. “As the design for our new home emerges, it is merely a more intimate version of what we are passing on.”
