A triplex tied to Dolly Parton in Solvang — a Danish-style village in California’s Santa Ynez Valley known for windmills, bakeries and wine country charm — is on the market for nearly $2 million.
The property at 561 Alisal Road is being pitched in the listing as “Dolly Parton’s former retreat home,” a “rare Hollywood legacy” that includes the singer’s original “Wig Room.”
The property includes three units totaling about 2,500 square feet: a 1,000-square-foot front residence with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a 1,000-square-foot upper rear unit with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a 500-square-foot lower unit with one bedroom and a 0.75 bathroom, according to the listing.
The 0.26-acre corner lot includes private patios and off-street parking, and sits near tasting rooms and restaurants.
The listing says the tenant-occupied property is generating gross annual income of $116,000.
Seller and listing agent Cris Lapp, a real estate broker with Black Oak Homes and Mortgages, said Parton used the property as a getaway before he bought it in 2022.
“Dolly is an institution,” Lapp said in an email. “Over the past several years, we’ve carefully restored the property, which includes the main residence and two rear units that were used by members of her team, including her driver.”
Lapp bought the property for nearly $1.37 million in 2022, public property records show.
He said the Parton connection has drawn attention. Lapp said he’s seen a lot of “gawkers” but would “love a super fan for sure” to buy it.
Media reports have said Parton quietly maintained the Solvang property as a getaway for nearly a decade. Lapp kept much of the home intact from Parton’s era while making upgrades that highlight the singer’s lore, including a custom detail above the front door referencing her name and signature imagery, SFGate reported.
