Mutual Housing California lands $2 million loan for green upgrades in Davis

Sacramento-based Mutual Housing California, a nonprofit developer of affordable housing communities, said it has received a nearly $2 million loan for extensive green upgrades and renovations at the Owendale Mutual Housing Community in Davis. Owendale is one of five solar energy-producing, multifamily communities that Mutual Housing owns and operates in Davis.

The loan, from California’s Department of Housing and Community Development, is to be used for updates, including more energy-efficient appliances, water heaters and heating-air conditioning units in 45 apartments and townhomes.
