The nearly century-old brick building at 11th and R streets is being converted into a retail and residential complex, with 26 rental units, under plans submitted to the city of Sacramento by the Cordano Co. The developer plans to keep the existing one-story structure at the corner, then build an adjacent three-story building that will “wrap” over the existing building at the second and third floors. The project was designed by Sacramento’s Vrilakas Groen Architects.
