For the second time in two months, a Palmdale, California, teacher has been put on leave. Students have accused her of making racist remarks in class, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Space and Aeronautics Gateway to Exploration Magnet Academy students have accused the teacher of saying racist comments against people in class.

The teacher, whose classroom is decorated with posters and mugs featuring President Donald Trump, said Mexicans “should go back to their country” and that she wants to “bring back” slavery, according to the L.A. Times.

They also claim that she “made comments about eating human flesh.”

The teacher’s name has not been disclosed.

“She says we don’t belong in this country. She would say that we would use the government for welfare and food stamps, we would take white people’s jobs,” student Yaretzy Martinez told ABC7.

An independent agency is investigating the claims, according to district officials, ABC7 reported.

”Regardless of whether it was a joke or not, comments are comments, and racial comments are unacceptable in any way, shape or form,” said Ryan Beardsley, Palmdale Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

The teacher was put on leave on Wednesday after school board members held their meeting on Tuesday night, according to Antelope Valley Press.

She was first put on leave on Oct. 28 after students complained the first time. She returned on Dec. 13 after the school had an investigator review the claims. She is also tenured at the school.

“Since day one I’ve had to suck up her nasty words and comments and jokes about racism toward Mexican people,” student Jossylin Villegas told Antelope Valley Press.

“She would always talk about how she loves torture and she wanted to bring back slavery. She thinks it’s OK for Donald Trump to build a wall and to put the Mexicans’ names under the dirt.”
