Missing Paso Robles woman, car found in Lake Nacimiento, sheriff says

The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon found the body of a woman who went missing from the Heritage Ranch area of Paso Robles.

Jyll Katherine Stevens, 45, was last seen on Dec. 19 at a dinner with friends, according to the Sheriff’s Office. After the meal, Stevens said she planned to return home, but family members said she never arrived.

Her car, a red 2009 Toyota Yaris, was last seen in the area of Skip Jack Lane and Water View Drive, the Sheriff’s Office says.

Following Stevens’ disappearance, Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue and Dive teams looked for her in the Heritage Ranch area, the agency said.

About 3 p.m., searchers discovered her vehicle submerged in Lake Nacimiento, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. Stevens was found dead in the vehicle.

The investigation into Stevens’ disappearance and death is ongoing, the Sheriff’s Office said.
