Tyra Banks sets opening for ModelLand with tickets up to $1,495. What does that buy?
Tyra Banks says her fashion model utopia theme park, ModelLand, will open May 1 in Santa Monica, California, with top-tier ticket prices set at $1,495, the Los Angeles Times reports.
“I always loved discovering unique and barrier breaking talent on ‘America’s Next Top Model’ and I wanted to give that same love to everyone, so I created a physical space to do that,” said Banks, according to the publication.
The website for the park, which also will offer tickets for as low as $59 for adults, describes it as a “first of its kind experiential attraction that will emulate a fantasy version of the modeling world with state-of-the-art interactive entertainment where beauty, fantasy, tech, theater, retail and an eating extravaganza collide.”
The 21,000-square-foot, multi-story attraction at the Santa Monica Place mall seeks to “bring modeling to the masses,” its website says.
Top-tier tickets at a price of $1,495 plus fees include a first-class modeling shoot, extra photos, extra wardrobe changes, veiled VIP seating, personal consultations and goodie bags, USA Today reports.
Or visitors can opt for a $549 ticket with a more basic photo shoot with professional makeup, hair and wardrobe styling, according to the publication.
Basic tickets, at $59 for adults and $39 for kids ages 3 to 12, get you a “digital look book” of photos and access to an immersive theater and ModeLand shops, USA Today reports.
Tickets for the upcoming opening are on sale now, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Banks announced plans for the park in 2019, McClatchy News previously reported.
But she said she’d been working on the project for more than 10 years, the Los Angeles Times reported.
“I’m inspired by Walt Disney,” Banks says on the ModelLand website. “He created a legacy brand and destination that exists beyond his time on earth and continues to delight people of all ages through fantasy and story.”
