A sneakerhead is being accused of pulling out a gun while waiting in line for a newly released shoe, California police said. Now officers are looking to identify him.

Private Sneakers, a footwear store in Seal Beach, had a newly released shoe that prompted a line full of “sneakerheads,” according to a Seal Beach Police Department news release.

According to the joke-filled release, a man waiting in line “got impatient” and pulled out a gun.

“Someone got impatient and thought it would be a good idea to pull out a gun and strut around like a tough guy in Crocs,” police said. “He didn’t point the gun at anyone, but his efforts had (the) desired effect and freaked out a number of people.”

ABC7 reported that an argument ensued between the man with the gun over someone cutting in line.

Police say the dedicated sneakerheads still did not budge from their places in line.

“I heard they were frozen in fear anyway,” the release said.

Officials are looking for the man and are asking for the public’s help to identity him. It’s unclear what he would be charged with.

“Send us a DM if you recognize him,” police said. “We’ll put his sneakers in prisoner property and lend him some sandals.”

Seal Beach is in Orange County, about 30 miles south of Los Angeles.
