A 29-year-old woman was arrested after striking a woman with her own vehicle following a fight on March 14 in Magalia, California, police said.

A woman was run down by her own vehicle following a fight with another woman in California, deputies said.

Kayla McCally, 29, got into the woman’s vehicle and “rapidly accelerated” before striking her with the vehicle in Magalia on March 14, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The crash happened around 10:21 p.m.

McCally also crashed into a tree with the woman’s vehicle before fleeing on foot, deputies said.

The injured woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition and had emergency surgery, deputies said.

Deputies said they arrested McCally more than three hours later.

She is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting great bodily injury, hit-and-run and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information about the incident to call detectives at 530-538-7671.
