See the ocean views of producers’ hilltop home with Hollywood vibe. Yours for $37.5M

The stately Beverly Hills home of late movie producers Dino and Martha De Laurentiis — filled with Hollywood history atop six-plus hilltop acres with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and Los Angeles — is for sale for $37.5 million, according to Coldwell Banker Realty.

“Perched above the city with views that span to the ocean, this classic, sophisticated luxury compound sits behind secure gates in a prime Beverly Hills location,” Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker Realty said in a statement. “This estate is the ultimate union of class and comfort.”

Best-selling author Harold Robbins bought the home in 1978 for $850,000 from actor and celebrity restaurateur Steve Crane, who was married to actress Lana Turner. Robbins remodeled the interior with the help of designer Phyllis Morris. Architect Jack Levinson was employed to add a three-car garage, sundeck and pool.

In 1986, Dino De Laurentiis purchased the home for $2.75 million. He and his wife Martha renovated the kitchen and staircase and converted part of the attic into a bedroom and bathroom. He put in a tennis court for his wife, who was an avid player. Their daughters, Carolyna and Dina, hosted their weddings at the property in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

Martha De Laurentiis died in December 2021 at the age of 67. Dino Del Laurentiis died in 2010. He was 91.

Dina De Laurentiis of Sotheby’s International Realty is a co-listing agent.

Located at 1501 Tower Grove Drive in Beverly Hills, California, the spacious residence has five bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Ideal for entertaining, the home, originally built in 1946, is entered through a grand, spacious foyer with a chandelier and dual staircases. A bright living room opens to the backyard. A cozy den features built-in shelves and a fireplace. The formal dining room has a fireplace, as well. Another highlight is the wood-clad kitchen featuring stone countertops and an eat-in peninsula.

Like a private retreat, the airy primary bedroom offers a sitting area, expansive closet spaces and dual bathrooms that include a soaking tub and walk-in shower.

Outdoors, a pool provides a centerpiece for an oversized deck area with a hot tub and outdoor kitchen. There is also a tennis court nestled in its own outdoor haven.

Dino and Martha De Laurentiis founded their production company in 1980. Martha’s credits include the 2018 feature “Arctic” and “Firestarter.” Dino produced “Three Days of the Condor,” “Conan the Barbarian,” “Serpico,” “Death Wish” and the 1976 version of “King Kong.”
