Library worker knocked unconscious in man’s ‘unprovoked assault,’ California cops say

Authorities in California are trying to identify a man who was seen punching a library worker in an “unprovoked assault,” the Anaheim Police Department said in a news release.

Video footage of the March 3 incident shows the man punching the library worker, causing him to fall to the ground. As a crowd of concerned bystanders draws around the worker, the man leaves the library, the video shows.

The man hit the worker “without provocation,” and the worker “struck his head on the tile ground causing him to lose consciousness and suffer a laceration to the back of his head,” the news release said.

The worker required treatment at a hospital afterward, police said.

Anyone who might have information on the man’s identity is asked to call the Anaheim Police Department at 714-765-1583 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
