This handcrafted chocolate shop ranks as California’s best, Yelp says. What to know
A California shop that serves “mouthwatering” dark chocolate treats has been named the best in the state by Yelp.
El Buen Cacao rests in Idyllwild — a “charming” small town in the San Jacinto Mountains, southwest of Palm Springs.
Customers can sip on chocolate drinks like milkshakes, coffee and hot chocolate or nibble on truffles and other chocolate delights.
But a Yelp reviewer has a warning for guests: “Beware, this place is bitterly addictive.”
All of the chocolates are made with 80% cacao and two other ingredients, making their products “true dark chocolate.”
And all the ingredients are natural and sourced from farms that practice fair labor, according to the shop’s website.
Reviewers raved about the indulgent beverages.
“We love this place!!! The best darn chocolate shake I’ve ever had!!! Hot chocolate is a must as well,” one reviewer wrote.
Yelp released the list of the best chocolate shops in every state in the U.S. ahead of World Chocolate Day on July 7.
To find the top chocolate shops in every state, Yelp looked at businesses in the chocolate category. Then each shop was ranked using such factors as the total volume and ratings of reviews.
