The best ice cream sandwiches in California are at this shop in Sacramento, Yelp says

Warm summers call for cool treats.

And a Sacramento spot has the best ice cream sandwiches in California, according to Yelp.

Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates serves ice cream sandwiches made with macarons and handcrafted ice cream. The shop also sells chocolates, pastries and ice cream.

Yelp released the “top ice cream sandwich spots in the US and Canada” on July 15.

To find the place with the best ice cream sandwiches in every state, Yelp looked for businesses in the food and restaurant category “with a large concentration of reviews mentioning ‘ice cream sandwich.’”

Then each place was ranked using such factors as the total volume and ratings of reviews that mentioned ice cream sandwich.

Ice cream flavors and macarons at Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates often change depending on the season.

But Yelp reviewers continue to rave about the sweet treats.

“Their macaron ice cream sandwiches are like no other,” one reviewer wrote.

The shop is currently offering macaron ice cream sandwich flavors such as pistachio, banana split, salty caramel and s’more.

Other ice cream flavors include thick mint chip, tiramisu, blueberry cheesecake and Ginger’s sundae ice cream.
