Skittles are for eating, not for hurling at Harry Styles, candy maker says
Don’t throw Skittles at Harry Styles — or anyone else.
The candy maker responded to a recent incident at a Los Angeles concert in which the singer got hit in the eye by thrown Skittles with a newspaper ad and online posts, KABC reported.
Video of the incident shows Styles “visibly flinch” and grab his eyes before continuing to perform, according to the station.
“Didn’t think I needed to say this: Please don’t throw Skittles,” the candy company said in a Nov. 15 post on Twitter.
In a newspaper ad and Instagram post, the company urged customers to “protect your eyes from Skittles (by eating them, not throwing them).”
The incident took place Nov. 14 as Styles sang “Kiwi” at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Billboard reported. In past incidents, fans have hurled water bottles and chicken nuggets at Styles.
“Protect Harry from Skittles,” read one comment on the Instagram post.
“Whoever runs this account deserves a raise,” read another comment.
