‘One of the most iconic’ homes in the world lists in California. Yes, you’ve seen it
Even though it premiered over a half-century ago, the sitcom “The Brady Bunch” remains a staple in pop culture to this day — and fans will instantly recognize the house where the blended family lived in the show.
And now, that house is for sale for $5.5 million.
“Once in a lifetime opportunity to own one of the most iconic single family residences in the world,” the listing on Compass says. “Meticulously rebuilt and designed to replicate the set of the home from the beloved 1970s sitcom ‘The Brady Bunch.’ Reportedly it is the 2nd most photographed home in the USA after the White House. Own a piece of pop culture history and pay homage to American sitcom television.”
In 2018, HGTV plucked up the residence for $3.5 million, completely revamped the interior and added a second story so it mirrored the famous set, which was the subject of the four-part reality show “A Very Brady Renovation.”
At the time the network bought it, there were rumors the famous home would be torn down, which sparked a bidding war that included even celebrities throwing their hat into the ring for a shot, the New York Post reported.
The five-bedroom, five-bathroom revamp is the spitting image of the residence from the show.
“From the infamous staircase that anchors the home, to the bright orange formica kitchen counters, to the blue bunk beds and pink twin beds, and let’s not forget about the groovy attic,” the listing describes. “The possibilities are endless for you to enjoy this spacious 5,000+ square foot home on a sprawling 12,000 SF lot with citrus trees lining the yard.”
“The Brady Bunch” aired from 1969 to 1974 and was about a couple marrying and blending their family of six children. It starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed, and Maureen McCormick, and also inspired many spin-offs and the 1995 comedy “The Brady Bunch Movie.”
The listing is held by Danny Brown.
