A Fresno woman died Sunday after she was ejected in an apparent DUI car crash on Highway 101 in Atascadero, the CHP said in a news release.

At approximately 10:42 p.m., Oscar De La Mora Marin, 37, of Reedley was speeding between 90 and 100 mph southbound in a Subaru Impreza south of the Del Rio Road over-crossing, the CHP said.

De La Mora Marin’s “level of intoxication” led him to swerve into the center divider, the CHP said. When he tried to return his vehicle to the roadway, he over-corrected and spun clockwise across both southbound lanes, according to the release.

The vehicle then left the freeway and rolled over on the nearby frontage road, Ramona.

Edna Marquez Galindo, 32, was in the passenger seat during the crash. She was ejected from the vehicle and suffered major injuries.

She was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, where she succumbed to her injuries.

De La Mora Marin received minor injuries in the crash.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor, the CHP said, and De La Mora Marin was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail, where he is currently being held without bail, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office database shows.
