State jobs are known for offering competitive benefits and enrollment in the nation’s largest state public pension plan. Many of the following jobs have specific requirements — which are linked below.

Though Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration announced plans in April that could require state employees to work in-office for a minimum of two days per week starting this summer, some positions were listed as remote-centered, as of June 7.

As of Friday, these were some of the latest state jobs offering remote or hybrid work on the CalCareers website:

Safety and emergency services manager | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: California State Teachers’ Retirement System
  • Location: Yolo County
  • Salary: $6,760 to $8,398 per month

The safety and emergency services manager oversees and leads other staff members, ensuring program standards for emergency response and staff safety.

While this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with up to two days of remote work per week, additional in-office work days can be required.

The application period closes on June 17.

Contracting and procurement analyst | Limited, full-time

  • Department: California Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety
  • Location: Sacramento County
  • Salary: $5,684 to $7,114 per month

The contracting and procurement analyst handles technical and analytical duties for the department’s Procurement Unit, supporting both information technology and non-IT goods and services.

While this position is limited term for 12 months, it can be extended or become permanent.

This position is remote-centered, with up to five days of telework. However, applicants must live in California to report to the Sacramento office when required.

Emergency services coordinator | Permanent, full-time
