Castle for sale in California has the coolest name — Wolf’s Lair. Find out why
A looming castle that stretches out over three acres has landed on the real estate market in… Southern California?
It’s called the “Wolf’s Lair” and the lily-white residence has listed for $15 million in Los Angeles. But why does the enchanting, eight-bedroom, six-bathroom castle have such an ominous name?
“Originally built in 1927 for Milton Wolf, this singular eight-bedroom compound seamlessly blends history, architectural significance, and natural beauty,” the listing on The Agency says.
“The estate’s rich history is observed in its coffered ceilings, intricately carved wood, gable windows, and turrets. Wolf’s Lair has a storied past: Debbie Reynolds, Marlon Brando, and The Beatles were all reportedly occupants at various times.”
L. Milton Wolf was a real estate guy who built the mansion, Forbes reported. One of the home’s famous occupants happens to be the recording artist Moby, who was the second to last owner. Moby turned the castle’s guest house into a sound stage of sorts where he would record his music, the listing noted.
While the home has a famous past, some of the real treats come from its stellar views of the Hollywood sign and the Hollywood Reservoir.
