‘Jewel’ estate built by Frank Lloyd Wright’s grandson listed in California. Take a look
A breathtaking estate in the trendy Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles has hit the market in the Golden State.
While the house’s aesthetic appeal is certainly a draw, it’s not the only fascinating aspect about it.
The residence, known as the Ross House, was built by Eric Lloyd Wright, the grandson of one of the most famous architects in modern history — Frank Lloyd Wright.
It’s listed for $2.49 million.
Referred to as a “jewel” by the listing on Compass, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom house fits right into the chic neighborhood and was renovated between 2018 and 2022.
“The dramatic water views of the lake are framed by large picture windows and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living spaces,” the listing describes.
“The primary ensuite, encompassing the entire lower level, features a spacious walk-in closet, a home gym and opens out onto a patio and lawn. Hardwood and tile floors throughout the home exude elegance and warmth.”
The natural light that flows throughout the house is also a standout feature.
““The best features of the home are its indoor/outdoor flow, its incredible light and how the home was designed to take advantage of its environment on the reservoir,” listing agent Alyse Livingston said in a news release. “The sunsets from the wrap-around balcony are unmatched.”
The devil is in the details of the build, with the Lloyd Wright touch that can be plainly seen when glancing through photos.
“The craftsmanship is evident in every detail, from the geometric skylights to the cove lighting, echoing the design philosophy of Eric Lloyd Wright and his grandfather: rooted in ecology, social responsibility, and beauty,” the listing says. “This home is more than just a residence; it is a testament to architectural heritage and thoughtful design.”
The listing is held by Jeremy Kaiser and Livingston.
