Deputy showed inmates porn and assaulted them, CA officials say. He’s sentenced
A deputy is accused of showing female inmates porn and sexually assaulting them at a California jail, prosecutors said.
Arcadio Rodriguez, 30, was sentenced to “364 days credit time served and ordered to register as a sex offender” for at least 10 years, the Orange County District Attorney said in a Sept. 25 news release.
He has been monitored by GPS since January and will also be on a probation for a year, officials said.
The Stanton man was charged in January 2023 on these charges:
- Sexual battery
- Detention facility employee engaging in sexual activity with a confined consenting adult
- Possession of a cell phone in a correctional facility
He’s accused of showing two female inmates pornographic videos of himself and “touching them in intimate areas over their jail uniforms” starting in May 2022 at Theo Lacy Facility, the attorney’s office said.
“To have a sworn deputy sheriff betray his oath of office to serve and protect by preying on vulnerable incarcerated individuals for his own sexual gratification is an embarrassment to the badge and to all the hardworking law enforcement professionals who carry out their duties lawfully each and every day,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spizer said in the release.
Theo Lacy Facility is a maximum-security jail in Orange.
