An $8.88 bet at a Fresno-area casino paid off big for one lucky gambler, the casino said on Facebook.

The player hit the $1,186,842.57 jackpot on a Prosperity Link Blessings game Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, about a 35-mile drive south from Fresno, California.

The game is in front of the Koy Wae’ Bar, the casino said in the post. Casino officials shared an image of the game, though it showed slightly less money than the actual payout. “Amount on machine varies as the progressive link is still active,” the casino explained in the post.

“I see a lot of wins happen when they’re in front of places where people will be, it makes sense to keep people hoping and back to the machines they go,” someone said in the comments, adding a congrats to the big winner.

“What would you do with a MILLION dollars?” the casino asked in the post.

Some in the comments said they would “buy a house and a car” or “gamble the rest of (their) life.”

“What a life-changing win!” another person said.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.
