Watch: Doorbell camera captures terrifying gas explosion at Bay Area home

A doorbell camera from across the street captured a massive explosion in Hayward, California, that reduced three properties to rubble on Thursday and injured at least six people.

The blast of a PG&E gas line happened about 9:38 a.m.

Fox - KTVU reported that a third-party consturction crew hit an underground gas line while digging in the 800 block of Lewelling Boulevard.

The Bay Area news station said crews damaged the line at 7:35 a.m., PG&E crews shut off the gas at 9:35 a.m. and the blast was reported at 9:38 a.m.

A portion of Higway 238 was closed, media reported.
