Player hits ‘extra special’ blackjack jackpot on $5 side bet at Hard Rock Casino

A gambler at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Sacramento hit a $587,317 progressive jackpot on a $5 side bet on a blackjack game, casino officials reported.

The Yuba City player won a triple diamond progressive jackpot at 1:25 p.m. Sunday on a side bet while playing double deck blackjack, the casino said.

Two other players won big at the same game earlier in the weekend, the casino said. One won $56,348 on Saturday and the other won $5,733 early Sunday morning.

“We love when a guest can enjoy an extra special weekend and walk away with a major jackpot that can be impactful and life-changing,” said Mark Birtha, president of the casino. “We certainly hope it made for a memorable visit!”

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is at 3317 Forty Mile Road in Wheatland, about 35 miles north of downtown Sacramento.
