Officer pulls over miniature vehicle in California. ‘How many clowns got out?’
A California Highway Patrol officer stopped a miniature low-speed vehicle for impeding traffic near Redding, officers said.
In California, low-speed vehicles are “street-legal, four-wheeled electric vehicles with top speeds of 20–25 mph,” the California Highway Patrol said in a post to Facebook with several photos of the tiny vehicle.
They are only allowed on roads with a 25 mph or lower speed limit, although they can cross higher speed roads at intersections, the agency said.
The driver was cited for driving on a suspended license, officers said.
People were quick to make light of the Facebook post by the California Highway Patrol about the traffic stop.
“When the officer asked what he was doing today; he replied. ’Just going for a little ride,’” read one comment on the post.
“So he arrested the person and put the car in the trunk? “ read another comment.
“How many clowns got out? Was it a record number? Is the circus in town?” another person commented.
