A new study puts Sacramento in the top 10 U.S. places in the United States to celebrate the Fourth of July.

The WalletHub report places the City of Trees at No. 10 on its ranking of the 100 best and worst U.S. cities in which to enjoy the nation’s 250th birthday.

The analysis graded the cities on 18 metrics.

“The best cities for the holiday help you make the most of your day, with affordable food options, good weather, fun recreation choices and long, spectacular fireworks shows,” said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo.

How did Sacramento earn its spot?

The survey found that Sacramento ranks 15th for Fourth of July celebrations, 93rd for affordability, 17th for attractions and activities, and 44th for safety.

Where do other California cities rank on the list?

Several other California cities appear on the list, with Los Angeles and San Francisco joining Sacramento in the top 10 at No. 4 and No. 7, respectively.

San Diego just misses the top 10 at No. 11. Irvine ranks No. 17, Oakland No. 23, Fremont No. 27 and Long Beach at No. 29.

Anaheim comes in at No. 37, while San Jose leads off the bottom 50 at No. 51.

Also ranking lower on the list are Fresno at No. 62, Bakersfield at No. 66, Stockton at No. 67, Santa Ana at No. 69, Chula Vista at No. 71 and Riverside at No. 73.

San Bernardino comes in at No. 81 as the lowest-ranking California city on the list.

Where are the best places to celebrate the Fourth of July?

WalletHub rates Las Vegas as the best place to celebrate the Fourth of July, “in part because there’s no shortage of things to do,” the report said. The city also ranked highly for affordable food.

Other cities in the top 10 include New York, Orlando, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, St. Paul, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Seattle.

Where are the worst places to celebrate the Fourth of July?

The bottom 10 cities on the list of 100 include Corpus Christi, Fort Wayne, Ind., Irving, Texas, Jersey City, Cleveland, Baton Rouge, Hialeah, Newark, Laredo and Garland, Texas.
