California player wins five-figure Powerball prize as jackpot hits $434 million

A Powerball ticket sold in California fell just one number short of winning the $418 million jackpot, lottery officials said.

Instead, the lucky ticket won $30,157.

The ticket matched four winning numbers and/but not the Powerball in the drawing Monday, July 6, the California State Lottery said.

The lucky ticket was sold at Friendly Market at 26364 Sierra Hwy., in Santa Clarita, lottery officials said.
