Vegetation fire east of Chico 80 percent contained

The Skyway fire east of Chico has burned 134 acres and is 80 percent contained, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reports Friday morning.

The forward progress of the vegetation fire, south of Skyway Road and east of Highway 99, has been stopped, and no structures are threatened, according to Calfire.
