Cal Fire battling grass fire near Rancho Murieta in eastern Sacramento County

The lands surrounding the fire are sparsely populated and dotted with farms and ranches. The fire appears to have started near structure, as a photo shared by Cal Fire depicts a long building flanked by fence posts. The surrounding grass was burned and blackened.
The fire began around 30 acres but soon grew to 51 acres. Although it threatened to damage the structure, the forward progress of the blaze was stopped and further damages were mitigated, according to Cal Fire.
