Three-alarm fire burns 25 acres near Winters; crews report ‘good progress’ on blaze

Crews were fighting a three-alarm vegetation fire Tuesday morning near Winters, authorities said.

The Dixon Fire Department and other allied agencies from Yolo and Solano counties reported making “good progress” on a fire burning in the Allendale area, near Winters, the Solano County Office of Emergency Services said in a Facebook post around 10:20 a.m.

The fire, estimated to be about 25 acres, is burning near Hines Nursery along Winters Road, near Interstate 505 just south of the Yolo-Solano county line, according to Solano emergency officials.

Cameras with the AlertWildfire network located in Winters and near Vacaville showed smoke plumes dwindling as of 10:40 a.m.

Solano County emergency officials said no evacuations were necessary.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
