Containment of Electra Fire in Amador and Calaveras counties increases to 80%
Firefighters have increased containment on the Electra Fire burning in Amador and Calaveras counties to 80%, Cal Fire said in a Sunday morning update.
Cal Fire said that the only areas still under mandatory evacuation are within the wildfire scar and that all other evacuation orders have been reduced to warnings.
There are no road closures left within either county.
There are many factors to be aware of when returning home from a wildfire, according to Cal Fire, and the department recommends evacuees visit www.readyforwildfire.org while also learning about how those in fire-prone areas can prepare for wildfires.
The American Red Cross will have two distribution areas Sunday for cleanup kits for those that were in evacuation areas:
▪ At Highway 26 and Ridge Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
▪ At Highway 26 Mokelumme Hill, Elementary parking lot from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
