See smoke from Oak Fire turn sky over Yosemite orange in time-lapse video
Smoke from the Oak Fire in Mariposa County was causing smoky conditions at Yosemite National Park on Saturday afternoon.
A PG&E camera pointing from Yosemite West 1 shows skies turning orange with bad visibility in the area when smoke blew into the area from the wildfire.
The National Weather Service in Hanford said smoke was already in the area from the wildfire that started on Friday afternoon.
The fire burned an estimated 6,555 acres by Saturday morning after igniting the day before.
Cal Fire said the wildfire was 0% contained Saturday. The blaze is threatening an estimated 2,000 structures, destroyed 10 and damaged five, Cal Fire reported.
The National Weather Service said winds from the southwest brought smoke to Yosemite. The smoke was also blowing toward the northeast in Mariposa County to the Chowchilla Mountains.
