Cal Fire crews are working to put out a vegetation fire in Placer County that prompted evacuations Monday.

The Oak Fire started on Live Oak Road in Weimar and is threatening multiple structures.

According to the Cal Fire Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit, the blaze was started by a commercial vehicle fire that extended into vegetation with a “critical rate of spread.”

At 7:48 p.m., Cal Fire officials said the fire was 17 acres with no containment and that multiple aircraft were over the fire making good progress.

In a 7:18 p.m. update, Placer County Sheriff’s Office announced Live Oak Road east of One Fine Place was still under an evacuation order, while all evacuation warnings have been lifted.

Remaining areas previously under an evacuation order have all been downgraded to evacuation warnings. Those include: Gillis Hill Road; Pine Lake Drive; Porcupine Ridge Road; Smuthers Ravine Road; and One Fine Place.

An evacuation map can also be found here.

California Highway Patrol has also shut down Live Oak Road at Canyon Way.
