A man died during an early morning fire Saturday at a four unit complex in Sacramento’s Arden Arcade area that also left a dozen other residents displaced.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District firefighters responding to the 3:30 a.m. blaze on Cathedral Court saw smoke coming out of one of the units. They quickly put out the fire, preventing it from spreading to the second floor of the two-story unit.

Firefighters found the man’s body during a search.

Officials estimated $25,000 in total damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Red Cross assisted the residents displaced by the blaze.
