Aukum Fire in El Dorado County reported 70 percent contained

A wildfire that prompted voluntary evacuation in the area Mount Aukum and Grizzly Flat roads in El Dorado County Friday afternoon was reported 70 percent contained with 25 acres burned as of 8:30 p.m.

The fire started about 12:41 p.m. about 5 miles south of Placerville, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection

Cal Fire reported that the voluntary evacuations occurred east of Sand Ridge and Bucks Bar roads to Mount Aukum Road.
