Public meetings scheduled to discuss water in Central Valley

Two meetings are scheduled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to discuss long-term water management in the Central Valley.

Questions about the corps’ Central Valley Integrated Flood Management Watershed study will be answered at the meetings. The watershed study will recommend potential projects that could be undertaken by federal, state or local authorities.

The study will look at long-term water resource management in the Sacramento River watershed, including flood risk management, ecosystem restoration and water supply.

The two-hour public workshop meetings: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Colusa County Library, 738 Market St., Colusa; and 2 p.m. March 18, Sacramento’s South Natomas Library, 2901 Truxel Road.
