Coronavirus is closing more than 50 Sacramento restaurants. Here’s the list

Note: Mayors in Sacramento, West Sacramento and Davis urged all restaurants to switch to takeout- or delivery-only models on Tuesday afternoon. This list was curated prior to those announcements.

Gov. Gavin Newsom called for all Californians to stop gathering in groups entirely for the foreseeable future, now recommending that all restaurants stop serving meals in their establishments to combat the new coronavirus and its affiliated disease, which has killed six people statewide and infected more than 300 others.

We are asking our restaurants to close down for the moment, offer takeout if they wish,” he said in a Facebook Live briefing from the Office of Emergency Services. It came a day after he urged restaurants to cut occupancy by 50 percent, and Sacramento establishments have been heeding the call.

These Sacramento restaurants have voluntarily closed to limit the spread of COVID-19. All closures are indefinite unless otherwise noted.

Several restaurants have begun experimenting with ways to bring in more to-go customers, including offering curbside pickup.

Canon co-owner Clay Nutting tweeted Monday that he had spent the last three days developing a website called Pick Up Fixe alongside local digital design company BPXI/O. It’ll host a list of prix fixe meals available for pickup at Sacramento-area restaurants when it launches Wednesday.

Newsom also called for all bars in the state to close indefinitely. The following places in Sacramento have said they’ll follow his directive:
