Drink to the health experts with ‘Fauci Spring,’ a new pale ale by Georgia Brewery
Wild Heaven Beer’s latest brew is just what the doctor ordered.
Customers can now enjoy the refreshing taste of “Fauci Spring,” a new pale inspired by top infectious disease expert and immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci. The drink officially hit the market April 9, according to the brewery’s Facebook page.
Nick Purdy is president of the Decatur, Georgia brewery and said the beer was already in development and simply needed a name, 11Alive reported. The brewery also recently debuted the cleverly named “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” a German-style lager.
Purdy says “Fauci Spring” isn’t your average pale ale. The bubbly brew is made with açai berries, a so-called “super food” touting alleged health benefits such as boosted weight loss and youthful, glowing skin, according to WebMD.
Fauci, 79, is key adviser on the Trump administration’s coronavirus task force and has been keeping the public abreast of the latest developments in the fight against the pandemic. As of April 14, COVID-19 has infected nearly 585,000 people across the U.S.
Over 24,500 Americans have died from the virus.
In addition to berries, Wild Heaven said its new Fauci-inspired beer is brewed with “not-yet-named experimental hops” and contains “tropical, earthy, cocoa and berry notes.”
The company’s brilliantly named brews are “just a bit of fun,” Purdy told 11Alive.
“We’re just trying to spread joy in a tough time,” he told the news station.
News of the new beer sent some customers into a frenzy with customers anxious to know how they could get their hands on a can.
“Congrats, @nickwildheaven and Co.!” one Twitter user wrote. “Look forward to trying some.”
“Love those guys!” someone else wrote.
Another user lauded the new drink as a “brewing zeitgeist.”
“Fauci Spring” and “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” are available at both of Wild Heaven’s locations in Avondale Estates and the city of Atlanta’s West End, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The beers, which come in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans, can also be ordered online or picked-up curbside, according to the brewery’s Twitter page.
