Get taste of gorgeous Lake Tahoe scenery as art gallery launches stress-reduction videos
A Truckee gallery owner and photographer has launched a site to provide scenic nature videos “to help with relaxation and stress management during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Elizabeth Carmel, co-owner of the Carmel Gallery with her husband Olof Carmel, temporarily closed their storefront photography gallery in downtown Truckee, which has been open since 2006. Online, the gallery still sells fine art photographs from the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe region, as well as other locations around the world.
Elizabeth Carmel says she launched Naturestream.TV as a way to provide a “coping care package” to the community during the coronavirus outbreak through their large library of nature images over the past 20 years.
An example of one of the videos can be seen above.
Viewers of the Naturestream YouTube channel ”can stay in and explore—via television, phone and tablet screens—locations that are all but impossible to visit during the crisis,” she said in a news release.
NatureStream.TV’s full-length videos run from one to three hours and feature beautiful locations paired with calming music. Titles include: “Seasons of Lake Tahoe,” “Superbloom,” “The High Sierra,” “Summer on Mt. Rainier” and “Grand Canyon Vistas,” to name a few.
All videos are available to view free of charge at the Youtube site. However, ultra-quality 4K videos can be purchased and downloaded at the NatureStream website, and played continually.
“I see these videos being enjoyed in homes and medical offices (and) hospitals, where viewers are looking for the calming influence of nature scenes,” Elizabeth Carmel said in a follow-up email interview. “I have found that watching them helps with reducing anxiety, especially in these times of so much stressful Covid news.”
She added that she will eventually have a dedicated app for Apple TV and Roku.
